Four Days Marches in Nijmegen

This week, the city of Nijmegen is one big Fieldlab during the Four Days Marches and its festivities. This will improve safety and make the organization of the event more efficient and faster.

Nijmegen is bursting at the seams this week with around 40,000 walkers and hundreds of thousands of visitors each day. The celebrations take place throughout the city center with over forty stages and more than 165 terraces. It is the largest event in the Netherlands. This year, for the first time, the ‘digital twin city’ or Digital Twin helps the organization by translating the physical world into a 3D environment in great detail.

The following parties, among others, are involved in the Fieldlab: Gemeente Nijmegen, ACBN / Vierdaagsefeesten Nijmegen, Veiligheidsregio Gelderland-Zuid, Kadaster, Mojo Concerts, Cyclomedia, Esri, Anivizzion (Bert Hobelman), Layhgo, Politie Nederland, Kadaster, Geonovum and uCrowds.
