uCrowds participating at LA28 business events

Yesterday, our Lead Engineer D. Kalender represented uCrowds at the From LA28 to the Netherlands business event at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven.

The visit brought together Dutch companies and a delegation from Los Angeles, including representatives from the public sector, authorities, the Olympic ecosystem, and business and community partners. With the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games approaching, the discussions highlighted the importance of connecting sports, cities, infrastructure, businesses and technology.

For uCrowds, this creates several interesting opportunities.

Crowd simulation can help answer practical questions before and during major events:

  • Ingress & egress: Identify bottlenecks between sessions, test alternative layouts and improve the flow of spectators through venues.
  • Commercial activity: Simulate visitor movement and dwell times to optimize the location of concessions, vendors and other commercial activities, while improving the overall attendee experience.
  • Accessibility & public transport: Understand how pedestrians move between venues, public transport and surrounding areas, and incorporate these dynamics into operational planning.

Our goal is to move beyond simply asking, “Is this venue safe?” and also help answer, “How will people actually move through it, where will they encounter friction, and how can we improve both safety and experience?”

Large-scale events such as LA28 require precisely this combination of operational planning, simulation, accessibility and commercial feasibility.

Thank you to Berend Casper and the organizers—Mission NL, Netherlands Enterprise Agency, Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM), Orange Sports Forum, and NBSO Los Angeles—for bringing this excellent delegation and network together.

Are you working on LA28, major sports events, venues, urban development or public transport and looking to understand how people will move through your environment?
